About Me

Salaam and hello!

I’m Shirin and I’m a bibliophile. I dedicate just about every spare (and not so spare) moment and space to books.

More about me… I’m a Singaporean who has been based in Islamabad, Pakistan for the past 12 years. I have tried many things like embroidery, sewing, journaling and even photography, but the one thing that has been a mainstay and that I believe is my true passion, is BOOKS.

I love reading. I am always talking about books, on the lookout for books and thinking about books. I have a particular fondness for children’s literature. I use my children and their being homeschooled as excuses to buy more books 😉

My family… We are a Muslim family of five – my daughters Marz and Bear are 19 and 15 and my son Peep is 8.  My girls were homeschooled until 2019 – Marz is now preparing for her A Levels and Bear for her IGCSEs. They are doing well ma shaa Allah in spite of their haphazard mum. 😉

Why I started this blog… I have spent the past few years trying to get my thoughts and homeschooling in order and that had meant less showcasing and more doing. This has meant that my other blogs have been shamefully neglected. So why start ANOTHER one, you might ask? Well, read on here to find out.

“And all the time we have books, books teeming with ideas fresh from the minds of thinkers upon every subject to which we can wish to introduce children.”
